Lisa Burnell, M.Ed., CADCII, CET has 21 years in the addiction field and worked with trauma survivors in court and DHS systems. She has M.Ed. from Lesley University and an Expressive Arts Therapist and a Certified Addictions Drug Counselor II in the state of Oregon. She worked at a Women’s Intensive Outpatient Program in Spokane, WA, for 6 years, she saw many missed healing opportunities and became guided to open her own nonprofit agency February 2000. Lisa is the founder and Program Director of Inner Journey Healing Arts Center which utilizes wholistic healing approaches.
Dr. Sara Hart, ND has been a practitioner of the healing arts for many years, guided by the dynamic state of balance observed in the natural world, the knowledge of modern technology and the wisdom of ancient traditions. Working for 10 years in home health and institutional settings, the limitations of pharmaceutical based therapies were apparent and a holistic approach to healing was sought. Through apprenticeships and formal study she was able to gain expertise in the field of herbal medicine, homeopathy, physical medicine, acupuncture, nutritional and supplemental therapies.
Dr. Maria Valdez,is a Naturopathic Doctor dedicated to educating and empowering local and global communities with the wisdom of ancient medicine philosophies integrated with the gifts of modern medical science. As a teacher, her hope is to inspire students and healers to find and exemplify personal and professional balance. Maria has been living, learning, working, and volunteering in Tanzania, East Africa since 2011, as well as exploring and studying other cultures and healing practices around the world. Maria is an adjunct faculty member at the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon where she calls home. She teaches in the department of graduate studies at Helfgott Research Institute in nutrition, integrative medicine research, and global health and also leads study-abroad global health experience courses in Africa and Southeast Asia. Maria’s primary focus is mind/body medicine with an emphasis on nutrition, lifestyle counseling, therapeutic touch, support group therapy and behavioral changes. Maria may also use evidence based conventional or natural medicines or refer to specialists.

Carol P. Prentice
Carol Prentice has a passion for working with and helping others heal themselves. If given the right tools, she believes that you can heal and transform your own life. At a very young age, she experienced a traumatic back injury and was forced to rely on the western ways of surgery and medication to ease her pain. This experience led her to a lifelong pursuit of healing herself and in teaching the Alexander Technique, Ayurveda, and Yoga. Carol graduated from Alexander Training Institute in San Francisco under the direction of Frank Ottiwell in 1986; she furthered her studies with first generation Alexander Teachers Marjorie Barstow, Walter & Dilly’s Carrington, and Marjory Barlow. Carol is a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist and Pancha Karma Specialist (Ayurveda Body Therapies) and a graduate of the California College of Ayurveda, where she is currently a faculty member. Carol has been a student of yoga since the early 80’s, but it wasn’t until she met Mr. TKV Desikachar in 2009, that she experienced the true healing side of yoga. She is a graduate of the Healing Yoga Foundation in S.F., a 500-hour teacher-training program in the tradition of T. Krishnamacharya. Chase Bossart, M.A. is a longtime personal student of Mr. T.K.V. Desikachar. A daily-life practitioner with deep theoretical understanding and a clear, warm and engaging presentation style, Chase uses humor and practical examples to make the teaching experiential and accessible. He has extensive experience in the therapeutic application of yoga in the tradition of S’ri T. Krishnamacharya and T.K.V. Desikachar. Elizabeth Cunningham Bossart holds a Masters Degree in Ayurvedic Medicine from Mt. Madonna Institute. She completed the 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training through Healing Yoga Foundation. Michael D. Frederick
Michael Frederick is an internationally recognized teacher in the field of Psycho-physical Re-education. He trained as an Alexander Teacher in England with Walter Carrington and in America with Marjorie Barstow, both master teachers trained by F. M. Alexander. Michael studied in the U.S. and Israel as a Feldenkrais Practitioner. Since 1974, Michael as extensive Yoga training in both the U.S. and India with the teachings of T. Krishnamacharya and T.K.V. Desikachar. He is the founding director of the first three International Congresses on the Alexander Technique and has organized over 150 workshops in the U.S. and Europe since 1978. She has studied and practiced Classical Hatha Yoga, Bikram Yoga, Ananda Meditation, Yin Yoga, 84 Asana Level 1 and Master Core series as taught by Master Yogi, Tony Sanchez. Julie is also a Registered Nurse and educator, incorporating principles of energy healing in her practice and teachings. She is currently studying Clinical Yoga Therapy and is passionate about sharing the healing benefits of yoga and meditation.
