Thai Massage

Click Here for the full list of workshops offered during this Kalani Bodywork Training Intensive.

Traditional Thai Massage developed out of Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, Yoga, and Buddhist Philosophies of Mindfulness and Loving Kindness and is said to be over 2,500 years old.

Through a combination of acupressure and passive stretching the circulation of the client's life force energy is freed, creating health and vitality. Thai Massage is a dynamic therapy in which the therapist’s and client’s whole bodies are engaged.

In this course you will learn a thorough full body sequence based on the Northern Thai style. We will focus on using proper body mechanics and creating smooth transitions from technique to technique. Upon completion, you will know a sequence well enough to begin to practice it and make it your own. A manual with detailed instructions and color photos of the entire sequence as well as discussions of the theoretical aspects of Thai Massage is included in the course tuition.

Michael Ceraso

Michael Ceraso began his journey as a bodyworker through receiving a wide range of excellent bodywork.  After receiving reiki attunements and practicing for a year he traveled to Thailand where he studied Reflexology at Wat Po in Bangkok and Traditional Thai Massage at ITM in Chiang Mai.

Upon returning to Hawaii he continued to explore healing work through intensive studies of Cranial-Sacral Therapy and Polarity. These studies laid the foundation upon which he has added Swedish Massage and Barefoot Shiatsu.  In 2006 he spent another two months in Thailand where he studied with 3 different teachers, learning new techniques and deepening his practice. Currently he is completing a Masters program in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

He has been the Wellness Director at Kalani since 2004 and orchestrated the Kalani Bodywork Training Intensive for the last 9 years as well as teaching its Traditional Thai Massage course.
