Hula Heritage Festival 2015

Kumu Ehulani Stephany, Likeke Koob, Kuane Cariaga, Lynda Tu'a and the Kalani Team.

April 6, 2015 - April 12, 2015

Hula Auana

Join us as we celebrate great moments of Hawaiian culture. Throughout the week we will learn traditional songs, chants, myths, crafts, language, plant uses and hula - in both kahiko (ancient) and ‘auana (post 1860) forms. If you or friends traveling with you would like to experience some of Kalani’s other activities, feel free.  For Hula Heritage registrants there is no charge for 50+ weekly ongoing activities.

Wednesday through Saturday evenings we will go to the Edith Kanaka’ole Stadium in Hilo for the 6-10pm Merrie Monarch Hula Festival programs, or portions thereof. Also Hula Heritage participants have the option to watch the televised ceremonies, performances and competitions from the comfort of Kalani.

Our finale performance, at Kalani, celebrates a week of extraordinary cultural enrichment, fun, good food, spa relaxation, exercise, and excursions, including visits to several Merrie Monarch Hula Festival activities and the spectacular spirit home of fire goddess Pele in Volcanoes National Park.

Participation is very limited. Call now to register for this extraordinary Hawaiian week.
