Camping space's are available for volunteers beginning in March with more openings in April.  Lodging accommodation begin to open up in April as well.

2. Send completed application with a non-refundable $50 application processing fee to:

        Please make checks payable to "The Kalani Fund."
        To pay by credit card, please call our front desk at 1-800-800-6886.

      The $50 processing fee will go towards your tuition.

3. Telephone Interview:

When your application and $50 processing fee is received, you will be contacted to schedule a telephone interview.

Scholarships

Trade Scholarships: Partial scholarships are sometimes considered for certain positions which require specific skills. When available they are posted below:

Position:

Maintenance Department

Requirements: Experience with one or more of the following remodeling skills:
  • Plumbing
  • Auto Mechanic
  • Electrical
  • Carpentry

In particular, we are looking for construction skills: wood & bamboo framing, finishing, furnishing; concrete - foundations, cinder-block walls, counter-tops, dyeing & staining; electrical; plumbing; solar water heating and photovoltaic.

Position: Information Technology
Requirements:

Someone with an IT background to assist with some or all of the following tasks:

  • Network re-design and expansion
  • Network equipment maintenance
  • Wireless networking and VOIP for internal administration
  • PC and/or printer maintenance and upgrades
  • Assistance with retreat group's technical needs
  • Help Desk whatever falls your way!

We have multiple IT tasks/projects running concurrently. There may be more than one position available, depending on project timing. Minimum commitment is two months.

Kitchen Department

Requirements:

Kalani is on the lookout for volunteers with food-service skills to help support our extensive food service program.

As a wellness-retreat center, Kalani is committed to serving our diners healthy, diverse, consciously prepared food.  We feature local and organic ingredients as much as possible and, while we do serve meat, we work hard to encourage a plant – based diet by providing quality vegetarian options at every meal.

We are looking for experienced cooks who are interested in being a part of our kitchen above and beyond what is expected of other volunteers, but we will offer you an opportunity to play a larger role in creating Kalani’s dining experience.  You will get the chance to both share and sharpen your skills in a unique and challenging food service environment.

Are you willing to:

  • Work 5 days a week in a kitchen in Hawaii?

  • Coordinate prep and cooking projects with other volunteers from around the world?

  • Help create healthy, conscious meals featuring menu items that represent many cultures?

  • Live in an active and evolving community of loving people running a business?
