Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training Intensive

Jules Payne and Michelle Schroeder

May 16, 2010 - May 28, 2010

Come to the Big Island of Hawaii and learn how to teach yoga therapeutically to clients with specific health concerns.

This 12-day Intensive is part of the Ajna Yoga Center’s Certified 500 hour advanced teacher training in Therapeutic Yoga. Taught by Ajna Yoga’s co-founders, Jules Payne & Michelle Schroeder, this Intensive training will examine how to blend a western medical model with a yogic view of holistic health.

About the Facilitator(s)

Jules Payne, ERYT-200, RYT 500, Certified Professional Yoga Therapist

Jules Payne

Jules has been training teachers of yoga since 2004 and co-founded Ajna Yoga with Michelle in 2008. Her own training is in Vijnana, Anusara, Ashtanga and Integrative Yoga Therapy.

In her teaching, Jules is most interested in connecting people with the therapeutic aspects of yoga - guiding people to their own internal source of calm through movement, breath and meditation. Her classes combine awareness of alignment, breath and a sense of play. Jules teaches vinyasa flow classes, hatha classes, meditation retreats, chair- yoga and sees clients for private yoga therapy sessions.

In training new teachers to find their voice as a yoga instructor, Jules believes in providing a strong foundation in philosophy, anatomy and alignment. With this full 'toolbox' of knowledge, new teachers have the freedom to find their own voice and own style of teaching.

Michelle Schroeder

Michelle Schroeder

Michelle Schroeder, ERYT: Michelle completed her Yoga certification through the Chakra yoga center in July 2000. She has been running teacher trainings now for 2 years through Ajna Yoga Center. In the last 5 years, Michelle has been drawn to a style of yoga called Vijnana yoga, working from a place of within. She currently studies with Orit Sen-Gupta, Gioia Irwin and her weekly teacher Elizabeth Peckhman.

Gary Renard & David Hoffmeister

April 24, 2010 - April 29, 2010

We will explore together how to join in Purpose for holy relationship and experience the simultaneity of time in the Present Moment. This experience is something to sing about, and it will be impossible to hold back the Joy and Glee and sheer Bliss that has been building up inside our hearts and is ready to burst forth anew. There is nothing so inspiring and inviting as true and lasting Happiness, and it is so simple and genuine that it takes your breath away. The lasting Love that radiates from the Heart is born anew in awareness when our desire for God is genuinely single.

About the Facilitator(s)

Gary Renard

Gary R. Renard

Gary R. Renard underwent a powerful spiritual awakening in the early 1990s. As instructed by two ascended masters who appeared to him in the flesh, he wrote his first best-selling book, The Disappearance of the Universe, over a period of nine years. He was later guided to speak in public and has recently been described as one of the most interesting and courageous spiritual speakers in the world. Gary’s second book, Your Immortal Reality, was also a best-seller.

The Disappearance of the UniverseOver the past five years, Gary has spoken in 41 states, 13 countries, and was the keynote speaker at the International A Course in Miracles Conferences in Salt Lake City and San Francisco. He is also the most recent recipient of the Infinity Foundation Spirit Award. The award is given to a person who has made a meaningful contribution to personal and spiritual growth. Past recipients include Dan Millman, Ram Dass, Gary Zukav, James Redfield and Neale Donald Walsch. Website: www.GaryRenard.com

David HoffmeisterDavid Hoffmeister

David lives the experience of A Course In Miracles, and has discovered that ACIM is a clear, direct path to God. He sees both Jesus and ACIM as symbols of Enlightenment or Awakening. “Enlightenment is to know thy Self. It is a State of Mind that never deviates. It does not dip into unhappiness. There is no sorrow or pain with it. It is natural and present. It has let go of regrets of the past and of all concerns for the future. It is like watching a movie from a State of detachment, knowing that all things are working together for the good. It makes no demands and has no agenda. Many people are always reflecting back to me that I have a childlike sense of wonder. I can look on things with a sense of peace and openness. I have no desire to get anything from anyone and I can see everyone as mySelf. Enlightenment sees no gap or differences that are meaningful. Enlightenment still looks on the world and sees the world, but makes no attempt to judge that world, and this is what makes it a happy dream rather that what it seemed to be before.” For more information about David, please go to his website at: www.awakening-mind.org.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga with Jamie Lindsay

Jamie Lindsay

A nine night, 10 day retreat in Paradise! The energy of Kalani is absolutely magical, the food is just delicious, and we’ll be doing a ton of vinyasa yoga.

About the Facilitator(s)

Jamie Lindsay

While practicing standing backbends during an Ashtanga practice in 1997, Shiva nearly knocked me over with a first blast of kundalini. I've been a devoted teacher and practitioner of yoga ever since. I am grateful to all of my teachers, and I enjoy all styles of yoga, but my teaching tends to focus on accurate alignment within vigorous Vinyasa as a means to liberate the breath, prana, and ultimately kundalini, and more simply, as a tool to assist in the continuous learning of the capacity to simply pay attention. Attention heals. This practice is the love of my life, and sharing it is a great joy.

Chrisandra Fox

>Chrisandra's teaching draws upon the wisdom of the masters and the sacred knowledge found within dedication to the path of hatha yoga. She is a student of Hatha Yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, and Tantra. Her influences are many, though she has been particularly influenced by the work of Andrey Lappa, and by the Shadow Yoga school.

Grey Wedeking

“I first took yoga classes in Berlin in 1994 in exchange for English conversation. I can only imagine that I did it because I thought stretching would be good for me. Seven years later, burnt out from 6 intense years of road bicycle racing, I turned to yoga hoping to find something I could practice for the rest of my life. So far, so good. I’ve practiced with a number of those teachers you’ve seen pictures of or read about in Yoga Journal, but the principal informant to my teaching style and practice is Jamie Lindsay, from whom I’ve taken countless hours of class, and whom I assisted in public classes and at teacher trainings. The practice will be more or less familiar to anyone practicing Krishnamacharya lineage, Astanga vinyasa derived asana, with a helping of Universal Vinyasa, and a side salad of energy and breath work. I believe that the work of the asana practice through the breath can bring light, consciousness and awareness throughout the body, inform the intelligence of the body, and bring equanimity, peace and joy to the mind and spirit.”
