Gena Kenny & Kent Cuthbert

August 21, 2014 - August 28, 2014

The Ultimate Yoga Retreat

Come and experience yoga, adventure, and the spirit of Polynesia all in the most spectacular venue on the Big Island of Hawaii.

About the Facilitator(s)

Gena Kenny

Gena Kenny

Gena has been teaching yoga for over 15 years. Her studies began with Jilda Liddicut of the Gaia School of Yoga. She has continued expanding her yoga studies under the guidance of internationally renowned teacher Donna Farhi. Her teaching focuses on nurturing from the inside – out. This approach allows students of all levels of experience and from all traditions to build their own authentic Yoga practice.

“My connection to Hawaii and the spirit of Polynesia comes from a twenty year history of paddling outrigger canoes. Through my many travels to Hawaii, I have had the opportunity to discover the magic of the Polynesian Islands and peoples. In essence the spirit of the islands is "Aloha", which means to be kind, nurturing and loving to yourself, to others and to the planet.”

The creation of "`Ohana Yoga" comes from blending this 'magic' and 'spirit' into her own unique style of teaching. Gena has also authored a book and dvd "The Gift of Yoga".

Kent Cuthbert

Kent has a lifelong passion for the outdoors and an active lifestyle. From participating in sports from an early age right up to competing in 5 Ironman Triathlon events Kent has continued to find reasons to be outside. After spending fifteen years as a professional in the corporate world he followed his passion and currently owns and operates Kayak Melbourne a tour business in Australia, and assists Gena as partner in Ohana Yoga & Wellness.

He loves to facilitate helping others get active and have memorable adventures, ensuring his groups have fun filled, safe experiences. He has worked with diverse groups at all levels of fitness and age groups from high school students to Corporate Teams. He has a wealth of fitness related knowledge and is a trained Pilates instructor

Culture Journey into ALOHA & Ho'oponopono

Pono Nicole Stadler

About the Facilitator(s)

Ten years ago I came to Hawai'i for the first time, feeling home right away. The depth of the hawaiian spirituality and insights of living Aloha every day, changed my life ever more. taught by a hawaiian Elder I learnt about the history of these islands and met several Kahunas, Shamans who taught me chants in order to open the energy. I am blessed to be facilitating this workshop with a 2 days Intensive of Ho'oponopono introducing Kahuna Harry Uhane Jim, his humor and sharing his wisdom can be a revelation for everybody in this circle. I see myself as being the Rainbow - anue'nue in hawaiian language - for people interested in hawaiian history, culture and rituals. PELE has been my companion since i came the very first time, she inspires me also in creating art on silk, see www.PonoArts.com. We will as a group create an offering for HER and visit her island home.

Mahalo and hope to meet you in paradise! Aloha!

October 21, 2013 - October 26, 2013
Kalani CoastImagine the best of the West Coast 'Ukulele Retreat and Camp Ooo-Koo-Lay-Lay, rolled up together on the beautiful shores of Hawai'i Island.

About the Facilitator(s)

As always, we have chosen instructors with a proven track record for teaching, engaging their students, AND the ability to present material in a variety of musical genres. (And folks who are just, plain fun!) As we do at the West Coast ‘Ukulele Retreat, we plan to keep the student-to-instructor ratio right around 10 to 1. Here’s who will be there to instruct and inspire you: Sarah Maisel (you can see how excited she is to be making her Hawaiian debut), Peter d’Aquino, Bryan Tolentino, Andy Andrews, and Dave Egan. To offer guest workshops and local insights, we will also be drawing from the significant pool of local Hawai’i Island talent: Keoki Kahumoku, Alan Hale, Kona Bob, Chuck Moore, Ka’ulani Trainor, and more. Naturally, there will be more of an emphasis on Hawaiian music and culture than we have at Asilomar and Camp O, but please note that all other musical genres will be well-represented at the Hawai’i Island ‘Ukulele Retreat.
