Hawaii Massage School: Introduction to Watsu

Alexis Lee

October 30, 2011 - November 8, 2011

Learn Watsu in HawaiiWatsu is a form of bodywork which is performed while floating in body-temperature water. The receipient of a Watsu treatment is supported by floats as well as the therapist, while the therapist gently stretches the body. The nature of performing bodywork in the water allows for the body to be stretched and manipulated in unique ways, that may not be possible on land.

About the Facilitator(s)

Alexis LeeAlexis Lee has been an Aquatic Bodyworker since 1996, working in Watsu, Healing Dance, Waterdance and Jahara. Alexis has taught Watsu since 2000 under the tutelage of Harold Dull, the founder of Watsu®.

Her passion for Watsu stems from the heart-centered connection she feel with each person who floats in her arms. Alexis encourages Watsu practitioners to come from a place of 'being', rather than 'doing', without agenda, thereby allowing each client's body to 'tell' them what it needs.

As a therapist, Alexis' experience in Shiatsu, Cranial Sacral, Swedish, Deep Tissue, Lomilomi and Yogassage therapies enhance her water work.
