Hula Kahiko is the ancient form of Hawai'ian hula, and is performed with chanting and percussion. The songs are deeply rooted in the land, the sea, and the culture. The costumes are based on designs from Victorian times or earlier. The men dance vigorously, and so can the women, especially when singing of Pele, the goddess of fire!
