Bruddah Kuz

Kalani is very pleased to present Iopa and his daughter Kyla Maunakea who will be performing original songs as well as popular cover tunes. Locally known as Bruddah Kuz, Iopa has a long history and lineage of music and community service. A short list of accomplishments includes selection as "Ambassador of Aloha" by Hawaiʻi County, producing Bruddah Kuz radio program and Youth Jamm for island youth as well as forming The Men of PAʻA, which helps Puna men recover from drugs and alcohol.

Iopa's commitment to community service empowers his musical offering, understanding and outreach to our Puna community. Playing alongside her dad is Kyla, who has taken after her father and done her own community outreach to her generation including hosting local bands at Makuʻu market and hosting a radio show at UHH on Sunday nights. Her passion for alternative music has increased their outreach to their growing audience.
